Steffi Laier - 4x World Champion Motocross

After a great Dutch season opener in Lochem, we went to the deep sand of Valkenswaard for the second round of the Dutch series...
With a big domination in the first round we didn’t expect less...

It all became straight clear after practice; Steffi putted without pushing the first time on the table with 5sec gab. The race started and with a holeshot she was gone...
The Rabbit Kawasaki was not seeing back and miss Laier did win the race with nearly 1min gab to second rider Van Wordagen...

For the second race the track was very hard and deep. Steffi took the lead again and pulled easy away... The riding was nice but then drama happen. There was no Kawasaki in the runnign anymore. Steffi did hit a something on the track and it would be the end of the race for her...

STEFFI LAIER:
“I really had a problem to ride smooth in the first race. I struggled hard in the corners and I was not able to ride a good rhythm. I know the races or long and very hard here because of the sidecars but I can onlybe happy of my first 3 laps...
In the second race I wanted to do it different I felt how it should. I could ride smooth and was enjoying my riding very much. Then out of the blue I did get a hit on my back wheel and then the back of the bike did fly to the side... It came to a picket and it did made my fly over the handlebar. The bike was complete ruined. I could not continue anymore... It felt shit!! I am happy I didn’t hurt myself much so just recover now and looking to the next and take as much points as possible!”
